I can not say enough good things about this light. From a safety standpoint alone it is worth buying. The wide rang of view it offers is great. The videos on this website do not do it justice!!
The NEW GEN 3 is a Boat lite that has been in development for the past two Years. When we set out to provide customers with a three-light look, we quickly found it was more difficult to accomplish than we anticipated. With three lights pointing in different directions, you will have a concentrated beam in three locations, making the areas in-between Dark. We had to develop a concentrated beam in the front with an equal beam following all the way to the sides, (similar to our GEN 1.2). After months and months of testing on the WATER, we finally found the exact angles and diode projection that would qualify this light to be called a Southern lite LED BOAT LITE. THE GEN 3 WITH 220 DEGREE LIGHT PROJECTION is our widest shining light to date, with an actual rear projection shining back, not just toward the front. The GEN 3 also was designed to be extremely narrow so not to interfere with your trolling motor of take up the whole bow of your boat. The GEN 3 SLL BOAT LITE is GUARANTEED TO BE THE BRIGHTEST, TOUGHEST, AND LONGEST LASTING BOAT LITE of its size. THIS BOAT LIGHT HAS BEEN TESTED TO PERFORM IN REAL BOAT NAVIGATION CONDITIONS TO KEEP YOU SAFE OUT ON THE WATER.

This light will swivel for beam projection only! in video where it is shown to swivel for protection during travel is not available or designed this way anymore. This is a change requested by customer, so we omitted this option.

Excellent build quality Easy to mount and connect to existing wires. A+++++++. Definitely a must have for those who are out in there rigs at night !!! Seeing better is always a plus. Stay safe !
I put the Gen3 with BlackOps and built in Nav lights on my boat before duck season last year and have been thoroughly impressed. In the past, I’ve run a single bar light and had to use a spotlight with my non driving hand to shine through river bends when turning, but after installing the Gen3, my spotlight no longer gets used. It shines both banks plus far downriver. On canals and waterways with buoys, I get reflection way downriver also. It’s by far the best light I’ve used or seen on a duck boat. Durability has been great also, even when busting through buck brush. The housing is sturdy and well built. Quality product!
Just bought and installed the Gen3 ultimate led duck boat lite on my duck rig. I hunt in a cypress lake so good lighting is a must. From the time the light was turned on it lite up the entire lake like day time. Definitely the best light I’ve ever seen. Other duck hunters was actually stopping me and asking about the light. The navigation lighting is also a great addition. Installation was a breeze with the crush rivets and wiring harness. Paint job looked great and matched perfectly. Housing is very durable and heavy duty. Awesome light only complaint I had was how close to Auburn they were. Roll Tide!! Really a great light. Great job guys!!
You get what you pay for! The lights are super bright and provide an amazing projection for the front of my boat. The lights are great but the housing is the most impressive thing about this unit. Ordered the hardware for install which is rock solid. When my order was placed, a follow up phone call was made to confirm the camo pattern of my boat and matches pretty good. Thanks!

Definitely brightest light out on the market now. Yes, it is expensive, but you pay for what you get. Worth the money to me.
Ordered back in 2018 but only got around to writing review now. Mounted on 2018 G3 gator tough 15 DK. Looks absolutely amazing. Quality all around and works like a charm. Running it on Ottawa River in Ottawa! People actually stop and comment on it at boat launch. The power of this light is insane without being blinding. Picking up decoys and getting to my hunting spot never been so easy! Would ONLY recommend Southern LED for all boat lighting needs. Very satisfied. Lights are also super tough store outside for winter without any issues.
Just purchased a new boat after this past duck season and I decided to deck the whole thing out with SLL light from front to back. I started with the snake tube lights they offer for interior lighting and then also got the rooster tail lights in white for rear lighting. The interior lights are bright as can be. I only did 4’ strips so they didn’t run all the way to now and kinda glad that I did. They are plenty bright. The rooster tails I installed were going to mainly be used for backing up to ramps in secluded locations that has little to no lighting so I can see where I’m going and they work great! Light up around 20-30 yards and have a wide light output to then. To top it off a few weeks later I ordered the GEN 3 light bar and let me tell y’all. It is BRIGHT! Can’t wait to run the timber/rivers with it next year. They sure knew why they were doing when designing it. Light housing is nice and solid and the mounting hardware that comes with it is a must have. Took maybe 20 mins to install the light and the majority of it was getting my wire fished through the boat. I’m very pleased with the product and hope this is a helpful review for someone else out there! Thanks SLL for the great products for the outdoorsman.
